Friends who have managed large computer rooms know that there are usually rows of network cabinets filled with servers in the computer room. These network cabinets are assembled and installed with panels, plug-ins, boxes, electronic components, devices and mechanical parts and components to form a dense cabinet. Network cabinets are equipped with a large number of equipment, and the price is not expensive, so the maintenance of these cabinets and equipment is very important. So many network equipment, management is not an easy thing, should be effective maintenance of computer room equipment, to ensure its efficient operation? Below I will take you to understand.

First, space control, server space control is mainly for planning, management, there is a small reason is also for the above mentioned temperature control, in order to achieve better heat dissipation.

The messy placement of servers or the display of network wires everywhere, only from the direct sense of vision, there will be a feeling of boredom can not get rid of the clue, until a day when the server or what part of the server is in trouble, we need to deal with it - ah, that is a pain!

Good space control is also good for temperature control, just like a network cable, a bunch of network wires are placed in disorder behind the cabinet, what happens? Block the air flow of the lower server, temperature "stable growth"!

If it is a tower-type server near the wall in a small computer room, considering the daily maintenance of such lines as making full use of space, keeping temperature control, maintaining power supply and KVM, it is advisable that the body be about 12 cm away from the wall according to the author's budget.

Second: Dust-proof, the server is a high-performance machine, but also a very vulnerable body. Some machine room servers, because of long exposure outside the air, when the dust mixed in the air enters a certain amount, the fans in the machine can be overwhelmed and strike; in addition, the dust entry, for most equipment in the mainframe, including the motherboard, CPU life is greatly depleted.

Therefore, in the computer room, if conditions permit, it is better to purchase professional server cabinet; before the manager enters the computer room, he should put on a disposable dust cover or personal clean slippers; in principle, the computer room does not accept visits from outsiders.

Third: Avoiding light, direct sunlight is very helpful for the growth of server temperature, but unfortunately, the higher the server temperature, the easier the problem, for the stability of the server system is very bad. In addition, direct sunlight is very aggressive for the display in the computer room - because of the direct sunlight, the life of the display can easily be halved or even more. When operating in IDC and ISP rooms, it's impossible to see a ray of sunshine that represents hope, so it's a good idea to avoid light.

In some small computer rooms, due to the rental cost requirement of using space as much as possible, the facilities in the rooms are crowded, and there is probably a large window facing in the near future. The environment in the computer room is very boring for friends who yearn for freedom but have to sit in it for a long time. It is not clear who will open the curtains, open the windows and feel the sunshine and freshness at any time. Air. It's good for people to feel the sunshine, but it's disastrous for machines to feel the sunshine.

Therefore, in the room where sunlight can pass through the window and directly reach the server, it is better to add a rule that curtains and windows should not be opened. However, the rules always have to be humanized. Considering the feeling of the staff in the computer room, it's better to divide a few free periods every day so that everyone can take turns to let out the wind.

Fourth: pressure control. Every server has a certain limit on the pressure, not to mention all metal fuselage, but there is always a maximum pressure. Tower servers are generally stand-alone, even if it is horizontal cascade, because the space occupied by single machine is too much, the number of servers piled up will not be too much, and the external environment involved in this is not a big problem.

Generally better server cabinets, take 1U rack type chassis as an example, the actual pressure that a 1U can bear is roughly the same specification weight (that is, 1U) of about 5-7; some of the better strength rack pallets, the pressure on the server is basically between 6-8 1U servers. Therefore, when setting the specifications for cabinet placement, we must make a good budget and not put too many parts in a single partition.

Therefore, in view of the special nature of the network room, when we maintain the equipment in the computer room, we need to think about this problem from the perspective of the maintenance of the computer room to ensure the stable and efficient operation of the network cabinet and network equipment.
